On day one of Governor Abigail Spanberger’s administration, she rescinded Governor Glen Youngkin’s order forcing Virginia’s state and local police to cooperate and even be deputized by ICE. Congressman Morgan Griffith wrote her a letter asking her to reinstate this order that required the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security to reach out to every sheriff or director over a jail in Virginia to make sure they would fully cooperate with ICE.

The letter used Migration Policy Institute as it’s reference because a quick Google search shows the highest number of undocumented Virginia residents, 361,000 comes from that site. What Morgan Griffith failed to do was actually read the Migration Policy Institute’s report. It tells quite a different story from what Morgan Griffith is pushing.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act makes some disastrous changes to student loan borrowing.

Starting July 1, 2026, the PLUS loan is no longer available to graduate, PhD, and professional degree students.

For those of you wanting to obtain a law degree or dental degree, the financial burden will likely be as crippling as the two aforementioned degrees.

Congressman Griffith should have experts to turn to. Education, experience, and expertise are important. We should not have a lawyer with a hole in his brain where a worm used to be as the secretary of Health and Human Services, especially peddling non-existing technology.

Congressman Morgan Griffith voted for H.R.1, the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” on July 4th 2025 which will cut funding to Medicaid in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

Because of Griffith’s vote, “Virginia is projected to lose $6.8 billion in Medicaid spending over the next 10 years and some 300,000 state residents are expected to lose health care,” according to Katie Baker, state director for Protect Our Care.
